June 14, 2009. The Ottawa Citizen reports that American roots-rocker Ben Harper has generously donated 40 ukuleles to a local school (full article here). In a related article, the Citizen also reports that "James Hill and Chalmers Doane are reviving the ukulele in classrooms across the country." Uke on!

January 27, 2009. It's official: James & Anne's new CD, True Love Don't Weep, will be released on the Borealis record label on March 24, 2009! Recorded in Halifax, NS, the 12-song album is a dramatic departure from James' three previous studio albums. Click here for info and audio clips.

December 14, 2008. James contributes an arrangement and a recording to the Ukuleles for Peace e-book by Al "Ukulele Hunt" Wood.

October 25, 2008. The good folks at the Bellingham Ukulele Group present James and Anne live in concert as a fundraiser for Ukuleles For Peace. The concert raised over $1,200.00 for UFP!

August 30, 2008. With his Summer tour complete (see blog for highlights and snapshots page for photos), James looks ahead to the Langley Ukulele Conference in September and his Northwest Tour in October.

July 4-5, 2008. Ukulele Italiano! James and Anne, Bosko & Honey, and the finest collection of Italian strummers ever assembled entertain capacity crowds at the inaugural UkeIt Festival in Vicenza, Italy. Read James' blog for more.

June 1, 2008. In his spare time between touring, writing, teaching, and recording, James has taken on the job of editor at Ukulele Yes!. The free quarterly e-Zine (electronic magazine), which caters to ukulele teachers and players alike, began as a bi-annual print magazine in the 1970s. It includes interviews, a range of articles, and a free arrangement in every issue. More.

March 27, 2008. Auckland, New Zealand. Over a hundred ukulele teachers and enthusiasts gather at the University of Auckland for a two-hour workshop with James. The hands-on session, which focuses on playing techniques and teaching strategies, is a fundraiser for the 2008 Kapono Ukulele Festival.

February 4, 2008. James Hill and J. Chalmers Doane present Ukulele in the Classroom, a series of three method books for students of all ages.
